We promote and publicise great bands, artists and entertainers to the gay media. Many are gay themselves. But that’s not what’s remarkable, it’s their talent that is. We believe in being visible because we’re proud of who we are. But we refuse to let it define what we do.

We’re delighted to announce the Hidden Cameras will be playing a special acoustic-orchestral show in aid of the Albert Kennedy Trust on Thursday 18 March 2010 at Shoreditch Church, London.

The Albert Kennedy Trust work tirelessly in Manchester & London to give shelter and support to young people forced out of their homes or communities because of their sexuality. Staff and volunteers provide a range of services from advice right through to supported lodgings to keep vulnerable young people safe.

The show will be introduced by Being Human and History Boys actor, Russell Tovey and will be followed by an after-party with DJ-producers Dolby Anol.

q:pitch is excited to be involved in a new initiative to draw attention to the problems of hate crime. After the tragic news that a man abused and attacked in Traffalgar Square died this month, a group of us have got together to see what we can do. The project aims to draw attention to the issues, press for more and better media coverage of these socially corrosive crimes and inspire others to do the same in their communities. To launch the regular q:pitch newsletter which will now be going out to all gay publications in the UK (France to follow soon…) we’re having a bash at Barden’s. Where better than one of the few venues in London that’s consistently been leading the pack with its choice of promoters, like Club Motherfucker and Eat Your Own Ears. On the bill is Scott Matthew (Shortbus composer/performer), Dog of Heart (members of the Hidden Cameras) and the Gadsdens (this year’s winners of ASOS new band competition).
